After more than 7 years I am closing the doors to The Big Comfy Bookshop.
The impact of Covid plus an increase in running costs means I can no longer continue the bookshop at Fargo Village.
On one hand it’s a terrible gut-wrenching feeling, the shop that I feel is an extension of me is going, but on the other, I have a young family, with 3 children all under 10 so I can now be there for them, as they were for me.
I want to thank everyone who has supported me over the past 9 years, with 7 of them being at Fargo. This is not the end of The Big Comfy Bookshop, but it is the end of my tenancy at Fargo Village.
I don’t have a leaving day yet, but the shop won’t reopen after Christmas. There are still several weeks until then, but I will only be at the shop on Saturdays now until I close. The few evening events I still host will also continue until I close.
Thank you to everyone who has supported The Big Comfy Bookshop over the years. It really has meant a lot. On to the next adventure.
Michael
